Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 May 2026.
1. Who we are
This website (the "Site") is an editorial project describing the history of Skansen, the open-air museum in Stockholm, Sweden. We are the data controller for personal data processed through this Site. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us at the address below.
2. What data we collect
We collect only the data necessary to run the Site and to understand how it is used. This includes: (a) technical data automatically logged by our hosting provider — IP address, browser type, language, referring URL, date and time of access; (b) cookie data, if you have given consent (see our Cookie Policy); (c) any data you voluntarily provide if you send us an email.
3. Why we process it
We process personal data on the following legal bases under the GDPR: legitimate interest (to operate, secure and improve the Site), consent (for non-essential cookies and analytics), and legal obligation (where required to keep records or respond to lawful requests).
4. How long we keep it
Server log data is kept for up to 90 days. Cookie data is kept for the period stated in the Cookie Policy. Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and then deleted.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the technical providers we use to run the Site — hosting, content delivery, web fonts, and (if you consent) analytics — and only to the extent strictly necessary. All providers act under written instructions and applicable data-protection law.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it rectified or deleted, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY).
7. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the EU/EEA, we rely on the European Commission's adequacy decisions or on Standard Contractual Clauses, together with any supplementary measures the law requires.
8. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be flagged at the top of this page with an updated date.
9. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints: write to [email protected]. We answer in English or Swedish.
